I am with the RBS and my limit is £20k , there are only a certain amount of transfers you can do in a row before they hold it for a check. The more you transfer the longer it takes.
the interest rate is poor over here , and to be honest if you are not planning to settle here forever then I'd think about what you are bringing over as not easy to get it back out and home again. If it's not for investment over here (property or business) then I'd look at gold coins (no gains tax on coins) in the UK , a solid investment and continuous rises every year.
If you want investment over here , then look at a little plot and put a few rentals on it to give an income , or buy a condo and let it out.. all the best whatever you decide
a little off track here , but I've been just using the A4 paper that I printed for my DTV several months ago as I wasn't in the UK when I got it , Do you know if I can go to IM on Samui and get a proper visa Stamp for the 5 years from them or does it have to be done in London ? Cheers
Philip Grills I like their honesty about it and we know clearly where we stand ... Other countries try to make it look like we are welcome and shaft us harder ...so I am at peace with how the Thais treat us ...and to be fair we are absolutely shafting them with the way prices are rising due to the rise in foreigners and demands they are making in the markets . It's getting harder and harder for locals to make money.
Philip Grills yes because I was born in the UK, and I'll always be British. I have no problem with that and I am happy for my visa and the time I have in Thailand.. . I don't expect to have the same rights as a local.
