I live here so am a bit familiar - I also speak Thai relatively well, or not too poorly. Thais generally use Farang as a descriptive word without negative connotation. Farang sometimes use it in a slightly derogatory way. Thai people are close-knit and family oriented and it may be impossible to become truly Thai if you are from the West. But you can still be beloved and close with Thai people and families
Chiang Mai is paradise. Many stores closed but so much open also. Lots of Bars, massage, restaurants open right now. Great vibe - even better without many tourists, though tourism is a mixed batch, many lovely people, many assholes. But all the Thai are beautiful.
Hey if you just get here you will fall in love so many times your heart may become permanently open even when it breaks and whatever happens including all the beautiful joy you find - love is everywhere - but it is a repressed emotion in the good ol exceptionally insane USA . Oh yeah, there are a few good thongs there and good-hearted people, but then why venture to Thailand 🤣🙃🥰
I will be traveling into Isan soon - and like and love all Thai people I have met which is a lot of people- and many from Isan - appreciate your words of appreciation
You speak every day? Does she speak English well? So, you come to Thailand and see for yourself what everyone is speculating about. You are asking about visas and I don’t know. All I can say is I live here and LOVE it. Sure, I have been in love and out - and it reveals to me both how beautiful and wondrous Thai women are, and how much I can love. However it works out, I notice my love is real, and I have never stopped loving anyone though they have responded in many ways to me. If you get your heart broken you can be grateful you love, and unconditionally. If your dreams come true, and they will come true even better than you imagine, though not necessarily in the way you imagine, you will be grateful and happy. Either way you end up grateful. It’s an adventure - and you were only asking about visas lol.
Wow - I was unaware they don’t care much about quality, and only partially aware of the rest . I live in Chiang Mai, and am going to research this. Four days a week I go to school here to learn Thai, and there are English teachers as well.
