I encourage you in your hope in a wholistic sense. There is Always something remarkable around the corner in life, always some good coming into your life. Perhaps take the steps that unfold to you in each moment before making a huge leap. It is good to be informed and I respect the responses here that explain the practical difficulties of your exact idea. I agree. The chances of working here in regards to your description may be like jumping from a high cliff into a small container of water. But the essence of your idea is definitely possible or even probable if you commit deeply to making your own life work. Set your goals high and take practical steps that have real rewards. And down the line you may end up here with money or find something meaningful wherever you happen to be.

Excellent. Yes, makes sense. It is wise to learn the language though it may seem daunting at first. I agree it depends on your communication skills, openness and ability to flow with life here. A common saying I have found remarkably true; Anything is possible in Thailand.

May depend on where in Thailand. I live in Chiang Mai. If you are here for awhile and get connected more opportunities open up. $3000 month you can live exceptionally well, once you’ve covered expenses to get here like visa and plane ticket. $2000 you can live very well. $1500 would be ok if you are frugal. $1000 is doable but you need connections, for instance, you could rent a fantastic condo in a great area for $100 month. You could shop at large outdoor markets like Muang Mai and get great food for very low price. I would not count on earning money here, so saving, or having outside income is necessary. As I say, if you get connected, if you love it here and vibe well with Thailand then anything can happen. It is a magical place.

also, I have not felt ANY antagonism with a single Thai person since I have been here. Not once. I feel very loving and appreciative of this culture and the Thai people, I literally cannot say enough good things. I am extremely touched and impressed. Every day in personal relationships, and with everyone I meet. And I spend most of my time with Thai people. This was not anywhere near the case in USA, which is so full of delusional distorted viewpoints and reactivity you would think there would be a civil war. I cannot begin to express how lucky and grateful I am to be here.

always changing. However, I notice many Farang here live with great joy and gratitude and have good Thai friends. And other Farang seem to have brought all their complaints from there old country here, and are miserable. Seems that we get to choose whether we are happy or not, and also have a perspective of our own creation. You are welcome to yours. My experience of Thai people is that they are generally kind and serene, and my experience of Farang is mixed, with lots of insane people along with caring people

oh yeah right. Actually I don’t live here, I do not speak Thai, Thais are bigoted, Farang always use the word appropriately, Thais are not close knit or family oriented, and it may be Impossible not to become Thai if you are from the West, but you cannot be beloved here — fantastic- thanks for correcting me 🤣
