Why does the DTV dependent visa application ask for the dependent's employer and income if they are not earning?

I don't think it is compulsory, but with all the scams and people abusing exemptions and easy-to-get visas, there are more and more checks to ensure people have a legitimate occupation. As well, that's a guarantee the person wouldn't work in Thailand. Hence, they ask for the occupation of dependents. Just tell them the truth.
